About the Author
Herbert Okolowitz studied philosophy, comparative literature and history of arts at the universities of Augsburg and Bologna and finished his PhD in philosophy in 2006. He worked as poker coach and later as Head of Education at Pokerstrategy.com. He started playing Poker in 2007 and is a professional poker player and PLO expert since 2011. He was the author of many strategy articles, especially 'PLO for Beginners', translated into 16 languages at Pokerstrategy.com.
Wladimir Taschner, aka insyderrr on FTP, insyder19 on Pokerstars, studied Economics, plays high stakes poker professionally since 2008, switched from NL to PLO in 2010. Has coached more than 100 students as well as produced over 100 educational poker videos for deucescracked.com and pokerstrategy.com

Very well presented

This is an excellent book for intermediate to advanced players with hand examples all for $5/$10. It is the first I have seen that emphasizes a game theory optimal approach for PLO. I found the chapters discussing bet sizing and board texture-dependent decision-making to be most helpful. The short chapter on mindset, BRM, etc, is also well done. One of the authors is a philosophy PhD, so the organization of the book and the explanations are very clear.
If you are just starting out, I would recommend reading the Jeff Hwang books before this one. One thing to keep in mind is that this book is geared toward online 6-max and does not discuss live full ring play. There are short sections on cap games and deep stack situations, but it is primarily for a 100 BB max buy-in. Noticeably absent is material on 2-5 player games. Many of the concepts contained are probably most useful at tight tables where flops are seen heads up.

Unless you are a MIT or Stanford graduate, this book is so complex that you will never finish it. One super redeeming quality was that it's complexity taught me what a math oriented game PLO is to play.
